Soft-Boiled Eggs With Asparagus

1 min read

When it comes to hosting a dinner party, the food you serve can make or break the experience for your guests. That’s why I always take the time to carefully plan out my menu, and I’ve recently stumbled upon a couple of delicious gluten-free recipes that I simply have to share with you all.

First up, we have gluten-free scotch eggs. Traditionally, scotch eggs are made by wrapping a hard-boiled egg in sausage meat and breadcrumbs, then deep-frying it. However, this recipe gives the classic dish a healthy and gluten-free twist.

To make these crispy soft-boiled eggs, you’ll need to start by soft-boiling eggs to your desired level of runniness (I like mine with a just-set white and a slightly runny yolk). Once the eggs are cooked, run them under cold water to stop the cooking process and make them easier to handle.

Next, heat up a skillet over medium-high heat and add some olive oil. While the oil heats up, mix together some almond flour, gluten-free breadcrumbs, and your choice of herbs and spices (I like to use a mixture of paprika, garlic powder, and cumin).

Take the cooled eggs, roll them in the breadcrumb mixture (making sure they’re well-coated), and place them in the skillet. Fry the eggs, turning them occasionally, until they’re golden-brown and crispy all over.

For an extra-special touch, serve these scotch eggs with a side of asparagus that’s been poached in olive oil and topped with a creamy cambozola crema. Simply arrange the asparagus on a plate, spoon the crema over the top, and sprinkle with some chopped chives.

But that’s not all! To really impress your dinner party guests, you’ll also want to serve up a decadent dessert. And what’s more decadent than a rich and fudgy flourless chocolate cake?

To make this gluten-free cake, melt some dark chocolate and butter together in a double boiler. In a separate bowl, whisk together some eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is thick and glossy.

Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, being careful not to overmix. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Once the cake is done, let it cool for a few minutes before turning it out onto a serving plate. Dust the top with some cocoa powder or powdered sugar, and serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

With these two delicious gluten-free recipes in your arsenal, your dinner party is sure to be a hit. Your guests will never guess that they’re indulging in gluten-free treats, and you’ll be the star of the show.
